'Supernatural' season 12 episode 8 spoilers: Lucifer makes a deal with the most powerful man in the White House

Lucifer (Mark Pellegrino) is eyeing a new vessel in the White House in episode 8 of The CW's "Supernatural" season 12 after abandoning his rock star host. The White House, however, is a very dangerous place to allow Lucifer to be in as he is believed to have made a deal with the most powerful man in the world. Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Sam (Jared Padalecki) would have to pursue Lucifer with the help of Crowley (Mark Sheppard) and Rowena (Ruth Connell) to stop him from wrecking further havoc.

Episode 8 is titled "Lotus," which means "Lucifer of the United States," and a deal made between the President of the United States (David Chisum) and the Dark Lord himself spells more deaths and more trouble. In previous episodes of season 12, Lucifer — while inhabiting his rock star host played by Rick Springfield — killed the rest of his band members to singularly enjoy the fame of being a rock and roll icon.

It is believed that Dean and Sam will have difficulty in tracking down Lucifer this time due to the strict security protocols inside the White House. However, the Winchester brothers have all the help they could ever need. Rowena was able to send Lucifer in the deepest recesses of the ocean in the past, but the latter managed to escape once again and is determined to destroy the lives of people.

Meanwhile, recent reports reveal that "Supernatural" show executives previously planned to do a crossover with a superhero series that intended to focus on the "Superman Curse." It would have showed the Winchester brothers locate Tom Welling, who played Superman in "Smallville," and save him from being killed by the curse. While the crossover idea would have made a lot of fans very entertained, The CW decided to scrap it.

Episode 8 of "Supernatural" season 12 will air on Thursday, Dec. 8, 9 p.m. EDT on The CW.
