'Supernatural' season 11 spoilers, plot news: Amara's brother, God, to show up in the midseason?
Avid viewers of "Supernatural," now on its 11th season, will have to wait for more than three weeks before they see "Safe House," the season's 16th episode.
A promotional video for the upcoming episode has been released. Although it does not provide much details, it teases enough to get fans hooked. It reveals that Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Sam (Jared Padalecki) are still after Amara/The Darkness (Emily Swallow).
It is speculated, though, that Amara will continue to successfully escape from their grips. She is seen in the trailer flicking her fingers and causing several ghosts to appear. For all they know, though, this may just be the Trickster doing its tricks on them. That is something viewers will soon find out in the next episode.
The teaser also shows a lone cabin in the middle of the woods. Sam and Dean will also be facing the undeads and will see a blue sky engulfed in orange flames.
Meanwhile, in this season, the subject of "God" will be explored. In the first half of the season, Amara, God's sister, provided Dean a lot of information about her brother.
In a TV Line interview, executive producer Jeremy Carver said, "The idea of God... is a question that will hang over and which will be heavily debated in the second half of the season. [T]his sort of lurking presence, is very much part of the conversation."
There is also that burning question that the rest of the season will need to answer: Will Crowley reclaim Hell? With no loyal followers to back him up, though, it is speculated that he might lose his battle with Lucifer. Fans would love to have him become a human again and join the Winchester brothers in hunting supernaturals.
"Supernatural" season 11 episode 16 returns on The CW on March 23.
