The next episode of Supergirl is titled "Myriad," and the trailer shows a new villain named Maxima.

The series will pick up where the last scene took off. While sharing an intimate moment with Kara, James suddenly walks outside to join others who appear to be in trance. In the synopsis shared by Comic Book Resources, "Kara must find a way to free her friends when Non and Indigo use mind control to turn National City's citizens into their own army."

Indigo already appeared in a previous episode as a former prisoner of Fort Rozz who can manipulate any computer system. It was revealed that it was her intervention on Kara's capsule ship that brought the hero to earth. She appeared to have been defeated after Wynn uploaded a virus that cut her into pieces, but Non was also shown before the end credits to put her back together.

Myriad has been mentioned several times before, and though much leaves to be explored in the episode, the project headed by Non is known to bring massive destruction to humans and on Earth itself. In the trailer, Cat Grant is seen talking to Supergirl about finding courage when faced with fear. Both women are also entering what seems to be Maxwell's laboratory. It is not known why the two remain free from mind control, but they are set to help Supergirl free the rest of National City.

Also shown in the trailer is a prisoner being freed by Lucy and some men from DEO who attack them upon breaking out. The prisoner is a character named Maxima who is played by wrestler Eve Torres. In the comics, Maxima is an alien who wishes to have children with Maxima. She eventually becomes one of the reformed Justice League members that went evil again until she found redemption before dying.

"Supergirl" season 1 has two more episodes to go and it is not clear yet whether it is renewed for another season.
