After being a mostly troublesome and heartache-filled season, "Suits" season 6 ended on a happy note when its finale episode finally had Mike (Patrick J. Adams) passing the bar and becoming a legit lawyer. However, despite the undeniable amount of Harvey's (Gabriel Macht) help to get Mike into the bar, it is now suspected that the upcoming season 7 of the legal procedural drama series will have the mentor and student going against each other.

Last week's season 6 finale episode featured Jessica (Gina Torres) as Mike's proverbial knight in shining armor as the former Pearson Specter Litt big boss showed up in the panel just in the nick of time to convince the members to make Mike a lawyer and placed Anita Gibbs (Leslie Hope) where she rightfully belongs.

With Mike's victory, Harvey offered him a sort of a congratulatory gift: the opportunity to be part of Pearson Specter Litt law firm once more as a legit lawyer this time. However, Mike had a better idea in mind and expressed he wanted to be the firm's managing partner instead.

"And then the other thing moving forward is Harvey made a deal with Mike: one for you, one for me, so we definitely explore how does it work being a law firm that serves two masters — pro bono and corporate cases — because we've laid some groundwork in the past that a lot of times those things are at odds with each other, and how is that going to play out over the course of Season 7 is another question we deal with," said "Suits" creator Aaron Korsh in an interview with Deadline recently as he teased about the things to expect from "Suits" season 7.

According to reports, though, Mike may not stay with the firm for a long time. Now that he is a legit lawyer, it goes without saying that doors of opportunities will swing open for him. Weeks prior to the highly anticipated series finale of "Suits" season 6, Forbes correctly predicted that Mike will become a lawyer at the end of the season.

Nonetheless, the online publication also floated the possiblity that Mike and Harvey will eventually clash with each other in the future, considering that the cases Harvey handles are the ones Mike goes against. Will the mentor and his student finally meet in court and challenge each other's expertise in the upcoming season 7? Fans can only speculate for now.

USA Network has yet to announce the release date of "Suits" season 7.
