'Suits' season 5 spoilers: Harvey-Donna relationship stays platonic

The current installment of the hit series "Suits" is finally coming to an end and still, Harvey (Gabriel Macht) and Donna (Sarah Rafferty) have not taken the plunge with regard to their relationship. The couple's shippers will be sad to learn that the much-awaited hook up will not be happening, at least in season 5.
Rafferty basically admitted to Digital Spy that she just does not see the two having a romantic relationship. In a way, she reiterated what executive producer Aaron Korsh told the press back in August that having an affair is the last thing in Harvey's mind, especially with his protégée Mike (Patrick J. Adams) facing prison time for fraud. Harvey will reportedly be "in crisis mode," and the last six episodes will be dedicated to making sure he would save Mike from a fate worse than death.
According to the actress, Harvey and Donna see each other more on a brother-sister light. Although there have been instances when they felt close to admitting that there is more to their friendship, it just never happened. Rafferty shared that at most, they just felt confused and mistook it for attraction.
"I think it's the tension that's the most dynamic thing. I mean, I'll never say never - it could be amazing and we have great writers who could create that scenario for us. But it's not something that I see happening. Though I could be wrong - I've been wrong before!" she said.
Meanwhile, the synopsis for the upcoming season finale reveals that Mike will be making a final play in the do-or-die faceoff with Anita Gibbs (Leslie Hope). As viewers have seen in the last episodes, the lady attorney is one tough lawyer to face in court. So far, she has succeeded in making the members of the Pearson Specter Litt turn on each other. Is it time for Mike and Harvey to wave the white flag?
"Suits" season 5 airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. on the USA Network.
