'Suits' season 7 renewed, spoilers; Mike and Rachel break up?

(Facebook/SUITSonUSA)"Suits" season 6 airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET on USA Network.

Fans of the legal drama "Suits" will be delighted to know that the series has been officially renewed for another season. It was made known at the recent Television Critics Association Press Tour that Harvey (Gabriel Macht) and Mike (Patrick J. Adams) will be back for season 7.

There were previous rumors surrounding the USA Network series concerning its future. Some believed that the show may have gotten the axe and would stop at season 6. Now, fans can be sure that they have at least one more season of the series to look forward to. As for the possibility of an eighth season, that is still up in the air, but there is still a chance for it. However, it should be noted that showrunner Aaron Korsh has admitted that the show is nearing its end.

Korsh revealed as much when he spoke to TVLine. "I just renewed [my deal with Universal Cable Productions] for two years, so I'm assuming we're likely to have a Season 7, and it's certainly possible we'll have a Season 8," he said.

"I would say we're not in the upswing of the show's life cycle. There have been shows that have lasted a long time and much longer than us, twice as long at least. I don't know how close we are to the end, but I know we're very likely closer to the end than we are to the beginning," Korsh continued.

As for the current sixth season, there is some speculation involving the love story between Mike and Rachel (Meghan Markle). It is believed that the two will put an end to their relationship, undoubtedly breaking the hearts of Mike/Rachel supporters. Rachel may find love in someone new, though. Right now, it is unknown if it is going to be a new character or someone viewers have already seen.

Mike, on the other hand, is dealing with his life in prison after admitting to faking his law credentials. Meanwhile, Harvey has his own problems to deal with involving the law firm.

Catch "Suits" season 6 every Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET on USA Network.
