Suicide Squad movie news: Batman seen on top of car in car chase

Excitement about the movie "Suicide Squad" kicked up a couple of notches at the sighting of Batman on the set of the movie in Toronto, Canada. He was seen riding on the back of a purple sports car being driven by the Joker, with his side-kick, Harley Quinn in the passenger seat. This was also the first official look at the batmobile that was involved in the chase.
While fans are speculating whether the Batman in this David Ayer-directed movie is the same Batman in the Zack Snyder film, "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," one thing has been confirmed. The Batman on the set in Toronto was not Ben Affleck, since Affleck is in Los Angeles, currently filming, according to PEOPLE Magazine. This does not mean, of course, that Affleck will not be making an appearance on "Suicide Squad." It could mean that since the scene being filmed is a car chase, a stunt double has been utilized. This theory is supported by the fact that Affleck has been photographed on the set earlier, when filming started, but not in costume. And speaking of the costume, the costumes are quite identical between the two movies.
Director Ayer tweeted the following on Tuesday: "I believe in old school filmmaking. Real stunts. Real people. Real places. It makes all the difference on the screen. Thank you #Toronto."
"Suicide Squad" is based on the DC Comics anti-hero team of the same name, and is intended to be the third installment in the DC Comics' cinematic universe films, after "Man of Steel" and "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice." This obviously supports the theory that Affleck will make an appearance in "Suicide Squad." Director Ayer also wrote the screenplay.
"Suicide Squad" stars Jared Leto as the Joker, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Will Smith as Floyd Lawton/Deadshot, Cara Delevinge as Enchantress, Scott Eastwood as Steve Trevor, Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Glagg and Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang.
