'Steven Universe' season 3 finale episode recap: 'Bubbled' another heart-breaking episode

In the third season of Cartoon Network's "Steven Universe," viewers were fed with all kinds of heartbreaking moments. The season finale was no different.
In the 25th episode of "Steven Universe" which is titled "Bubbled," Steven is seen floating in space inside a bubble. Ruby, who Steven nicknamed as Eyeball, drifted towards his bubble, and she resorted to a seemingly never-ending rant about their current situation. Eyeball kept on blaming Steven for being stuck in space, unable to return to their home.
Steven was apologetic for sending them into space, but Eyeball was not in the mood for forgiveness or for friendship. She was frustrated that she even went back to Earth in the first place. In the previous episodes, viewers were able to see that Eyeball and other Ruby troops were sent to the planet Earth by Yellow Diamond to find Jasper, one of the show's leading antagonists. Yellow Diamond is a member of the Great Diamond Authority, a council that governs the Gem race.
Eyeball tells Steven that she was unable to believe that the Crystal Gems still existed. What was even more difficult for her to believe was the evidence suggesting that Rose Quartz was alive.
Eyeball tells Steven that she wanted to see Rose more than anything. She was hoping Jasper had answers, but she found out in episode 24, "Back to the Moon," that Amethyst just disguised herself as Jasper.
Steven tells Eyeball that Rose turned into him. Eyeball, instinctively, didn't believe him. Even when he showed her his gem and shield, she still refused to believe him.
When the bubble came across an asteroid belt, Eyeball's gem, which is really her left eye, broke. Steven pulled her inside the bubble to save her and offered to heal her gem. When he did, Eyeball finally believed him that he was indeed Rose. But this only led to more hostilities; Eyeball pulled out a dagger from her gem and attempted to kill him. To protect himself, Steven withdrew his bubble just in time to eject Rose out of it.
This episode poked on one of the mysteries of the show, Pink Diamond. At the end of the episode, Steven was reunited with the team. After exchanging hugs and shedding a few tears, he asked the team why no one has ever told him about Rose Quartz and Pink Diamond's history. Garnet revealed that Rose had to end Pink's life to save Earth.
The last episode of "Steven Universe" showed the titular character that his mother wasn't entirely who he thought she was. "Bubbled" premiered last Friday, Aug. 12.
