A new "Splatoon" update has just arrived, and along with it are some changes being made to different aspects of the game.

First off, two of the stages in the game will be affected by the latest update.

Specifically, the layouts for both Arowana Mall and Moray Towers will be changing.

In Arowana Mall, the layout for Turf War has now been tweaked so that it more closely resembles the one featured in Splat Zones, although some of the connecting grates will not be there.

The Moray Towers map has also been changed so that its Turf War layout also resembles the Splat Zones setting more closely.

Changes to Splatfest are also being implemented via the latest "Splatoon" update, according to Nintendo.

Among the things that will change is that in Splatfest, the Vibe Meter will now be replaced with a display of the Splatfest Power.

Splatfest Power level will also be fluctuating depending upon the number of wins and losses that a player may accrue over the course of Splatfest Battles.

Splatfest Power has also been changed so that at the start, it will be based upon the player's Ranked Battle rank.

Matchmaking in Splatfest has also been tweaked so that it will now be based more on Splatfest Power levels as opposed to play styles.

The amount of Splatfest Points that a team can obtain after winning will also now depend in part on the players' average power levels.

The latest update will also account for unfortunate instances wherein some players may be disconnected during Ranked Battles in "Splatoon." Moving forward, the amount of Rank Points that a team can earn after a Ranked Battle may be decreased if a member of the losing team is suddenly disconnected over the course of a match.

Some of the Gear Abilities inside "Splatoon" have also been tweaked by the latest update.
