There have been some rumors and speculations circulating suggesting that Tony Stark might make an appearance in the "Spider-Man" Reboot for the Marvel Cinematic Universe phase 3.

According to the report from Comicbook Movie, it seems like a rumor has been brewing that suggests the possible appearance of Tony Stark in the much awaited (third) reboot of "Spider-Man."

To put it into perspective, the next film in the MCU is "Captain America: Civil War" where Peter Parker (played by Tom Holland) will make his first appearance. In the comic arc of the same title, fans who have read it can see the deep emotional connection of Tony Stark and Peter Parker. Stark even lend him one of his newly invented suits, which is pretty much like an Iron Man suit but specifically made for "Spider-Man."

With this narrative, fans would easily presume that this might also be the case in the coming film as well as in his first solo-film in the MCU—Stark and Parker's father/son-esque relationship.

Another clue that may have fueled this rumor is Jon Watt's comment during his interview with IGN. When the "Spider-Man" director was asked about his favorite Marvel movie, he just explained that the connection between each film is what makes this universe truly entertaining and satisfying for him.

"Like, there were things that I wasn't necessarily picking up on the first time through in some of those movies and you go all the way back to the earlier ones and you see they're connecting..." Watt continued on his explanation.

As for the particular ones, specifically the connection, he said "I like watching the Stark family continuity throughout the movies, seeing Tony's dad in the first Captain America, things like that."

However, this doesn't necessarily prove that Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark will certainly make an appearance in the film. It is still best to wait for further updates from Jon Watt and Marvel whether Iron Man will appear or not.

"Spider-Man" Reboot is scheduled to premiere in cinemas on July 28, 2017.
