Sony X Performance vs HTC 10 specs comparison: both have similar hardware

As metal-bodied smartphones have been flooding the market, Sony has chosen to bring out one of its own in the form of the X Performance. This is how the HTC 10, the latest flagship from HTC, compares against the Sony X Performance.

Design

Here, the X Performance is rather bland; however, it has a nice seamless metal body. The bezels on the device are big and there is a fingerprint scanner incorporated into the power button, which is on its side. As for colors, the device comes in white, lime gold, black, and rose gold, and it also has an IP68 rating, which means it can be submerged in 1.5 meters of water for 30 minutes. As for the HTC 10, it is a much better-looking device and has a metal body with attractive polished metal adorning its sides. There are antenna lines visible on the back of the device and a fingerprint scanner is included in the button on the front. Coming to colors, the device is available in three — gold, gray, and silver.

Display

On board the HTC 10 is a Super LCD5 display measuring 5.2 inches and it has a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and density of 565 pixels per inch. As for the X Performance, it has an IPS LCD display measuring 5.0 inches with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and density of 441 pixels per inch.

Hardware

Here, both these devices are similar as each has the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset, coupled with a quad-core CPU and an Adreno 530 GPU.

Camera

On the X Performance is a 23-megapixel camera, while the HTC 10 has a 12-megapixel version, which has been graded in the number one spot by DxOMark.

Price

When it comes to pricing, the Sony X Performance has not been revealed, while the HTC 10 costs $700 without a contract.
