The premiere of 'Sons of Anarchy' Season 7 proved to be as violent and brutal as expected.

The premiere opened with a scene showing Jax torturing a fellow inmate inside a prison bathroom, which he later scars with a swastika sign. Teller acted to clear the air between SAMCRO and white supremacist leader Ron Tully.

District Attorney Patterson then talks to Teller and tells him that he had no connection with the guns that were used in last season's school shooting, and tells him he's free to go.

Teller did not waste a minute of being a free man, and immediately set terms with the Mayans, Lin's crew, and even made time to ensure that the ones who killed T.O. Cross' crew are held to SAMCRO justice.

Cross later leads SAMCRO to a corner apartment, claiming that the ones who killed his crew are in the building. The gang kills the people inside, who happened to be pastors and the real suspect's girlfriend.

Gemma Teller continues her web of lies, with Wendy entangled in it.

While Wendy's away for rehab, Gemma sublets Wendy's apartment to Juice, forcing Wendy to keep Juice's whereabouts all to herself. Unser then discovers Juice and Wendy's secret, forcing Juice to hold the ex-cop and SAMCRO friend hostage.

The premiere went all out towards the end, where Gemma tipped off Jax that one of Lin's crew killed Tara (when it was actually she who did it) and asked Cross to follow the person and take him to a safe house.

Jax then performs gruesome torture techniques, ending with a knife bashed on the Chinese guy's skull.

It's evident how Jax's character has become more violent and ruthless, but altogether more wise.

The next episode promises to be more exciting as new characters will come in and some mainstays will have to go.
