'So You Think You Can Dance' news: Paula Abdul and Jason Derulo join the judge's table

(FOX/official Facebook page)Ricky Ubeda becomes teary eyed after host Cat Deeley announces that he is the winner of season 11.

FOX's hit dance competition, "So You Think You Can Dance" is one of the few shows that has been around for a long time, given that it recently concluded its eleventh season and is currently auditioning dancers for its twelfth season.

One of the prizes for season 11 was a chance to feature in a musical on Broadway. Well, the official Broadway site recently announced that season 11's winner Ricky Ubeda will be performing to "On The Town" from Feb. 27 to April 26, 2015. He will be performing at the Lyric theatre stage.

Ricky Ubeda was a humble high school student from Miami in Florida before winning the title of "America's Favorite Dancer" on the show. Following his victory status, Ubeda has been touring with his fellow competitors and has appeared on a slew of talk shows. Ricky also teaches and choreographs dance pieces across the country.

"On The Town" is the story of three sailors on leave in New York City and follows their adventures while staying in the thriving metropolis. The show first appeared on Broadway in 1944 and features musical numbers such as "New York, New York," "I Can Cook Too," and "Lonely Town".

Meanwhile, E Online reports that seasoned judge and executive producer Nigel Lythgoe will be joined at the judge's table by Paula Abdul and Jason Derulo. The show replaced them with choreographer Mary Murphy. Abdul expressed her excitement at being a judge on "So You Think You Can Dance" by saying, "I have dedicated a large part of my career as a choreographer to discovering and mentoring some of the most iconic artists and performers from all over the world. So You Think You Can Dance has a long-standing history of launching brilliant careers for young choreographers and dancers in the industry. It's going to be a true honor and pleasure joining this panel with Jason and Nigel, and I'm looking forward to an exciting new season!"

Derulo was also delighted, pointing out that he is "truly excited, and eagerly look forward to joining the cast of So You Think You Can Dance".
