'Sleepy Hollow' season 4 cast news: Jeremy Davies to play new villain; Janina Gavankar as new female lead

(Facebook/SleepyHollow)Jeremy Davies has been tapped to play the new big bad on "Sleepy Hollow" season 4.

The fourth season of "Sleepy Hollow" will see a huge shake-up in terms of characters. Not only is there a new female lead, but also a new villain for Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) to face. Jeremy Davies has been tapped to be the new season's antagonist.

According to TVLine, the "Lost" alum will be playing a character named Malcolm Dreyfuss, a 30-year-old tech magnate turned billionaire. Described as being "eccentric" and "outspoken," Dreyfuss is greedy for power and is on the prowl to take over other worlds. The Emmy Award winner has also appeared on FX's "Justified," Fox's "Lucifer," and NBC's "Hannibal."

Ichabod will have his hands full with the new threat. But he can't do it alone — and he won't have to. Fans know by now that the end of season 3 saw Abbie Mills getting killed off, which means someone has to be brought in to fill the shoes of the female lead.

Janina Gavankar has been brought in by Fox to play the role of Diana, a new ally of Ichabod's and an agent of the Secret Service. Although she has been billed in a guest-starring role, Gavankar is expected to replace Abbie and help Ichabod with the problems that arise in their world. However, it won't all be rainbows and butterflies for the two as they will not be getting along at first.

Davies and Gavankar are going to be the newcomers in season 4 following the departure of three characters. It was previously reported that Nicole Beharie, who played Abbie, exited the series at the end of season 3. Following suit, Lance Gross and Jessica Camacho, who respectively played Daniel Reynolds and Sophie Foster, have also left the show. However, Camacho is reportedly going to make one or two appearances in the upcoming season.

"Sleepy Hollow" season 4 does not have an official premiere date as of yet.
