'Sister Wives' season 8 release date, news, rumors: TLC hints of show's return as Mykelti preps for her wedding?

(Facebook/Sister Wives)Will TLC renew "Sister Wives" for an eighth season to shine the spotlight on Mykelti Brown's engagement and wedding?

One of the "Sister Wives" daughters is getting married soon, and it seems that TLC has found a reason to renew the show for an eighth season as the reality series' Facebook page has been active these days.

The show's Facebook page posted a link to TLC's photo gallery of Mykelti Brown's engagement with nothing more in the caption than a heart emoji. Though there is no official word about Mykelti's engagement and wedding being the focus of "Sister Wives" season eight, it would be an interesting storyline since television viewers are always interested in weddings and romantic arcs.

In another post, the show reminisced on some moments from season six, which is the most controversial yet, after Meri, Kody's first wife, admitted that she was catfished. The scandal took over social media and various forums and became a topic of debate among experts and fans alike.

It's possible that the reason why the series posted a season six photo gallery is because it is hinting of a "Sister Wives" season eight plot which could be traced back to the scandalous events in the sixth installment which temporarily put the Brown elders in chaos.

After news of Meri's catfishing scandal spread across the globe, some started questioning if Kody is still able to keep his family intact and if Meri still wants to be in the polygamous family. However, through the finale, it seemed as if things were much lighter as the family picked up the pieces.

When season seven came, one of Meri's children revealed that she warned her mother about the catfishing scandal but Meri didn't listen and it resulted to a stir of emotions between her and Kody. If ever Meri decides to leave Kody, it would be a good idea for TLC to give a green light for "Sister Wives" season eight.

Fans have long been wondering how things will be if one of wives decides to walk out on the polygamous patriarch who still believes that he's able to handle his four wives and numerous children well.

TLC has yet to announce a new season but if "Sister Wives" season eight pushes through, it might be awarded with an early 2017 premiere.
