Despite the emotional Frank (William H. Macy) in the season 7 finale of "Shameless," viewers cannot expect the Gallagher patriarch to make a 360-degree turn as far as how he lives his life in the upcoming season 8 of "Shameless" as he will still be, well, shameless.

The season 7 finale of "Shameless" highlighted the soft side of Frank as he appeared at the funeral of his former wife, Monica (Chloe Webb), who died because of brain damage. Despite being divorced, Frank disclosed to his children that he really loved and cared about their mother. After all, Monica was his childhood sweetheart. Hence, her death cloaks him in sadness.

While others suspect that Monica's death will bring Frank back to his senses, the latest reports claim that it will not be the case as Frank will still be shameless in "Shameless" season 8. Reportedly, he will continue to live his life the way it pleases him and will still be devil-may-care about the opinion of his children and other people.

Meanwhile, if the upcoming season 8 of "Shameless" will still feature the same Frank, the same thing cannot be expected of Fiona (Emmy Rossum) as she has already made it clear with her siblings that she is done playing the combined role of a father and a mother in the Gallagher household, and that it is high time for them to fend for themselves. She also told Frank that she will no longer tolerate his cruelty toward her and her siblings.

Apart from freeing herself from the self-imposed responsibility to take care of her siblings, "Shameless" season 8 will also feature Fiona engaged in a new business venture. After realizing that her laundromat business is not that she wants in life, she will try her luck in the real estate business after purchasing a building last season.

Because of her new business venture, it is alleged that Fiona will still not have a love life in the series, although she is reputed for always having one prior to its concluded season 7.

"Shameless" is suspected to return to Showtime for its season 8 in late 2017 or early 2018.
