'Shameless' season 8 rumors: Frank to finally be a better version of himself?
After the heartbreaking death of his estranged wife, Monica (Chloe Webb), in the last season of "Shameless," some fans of the series now suspect that Frank (William H. Macy) may finally gather back his senses and make amends to his children in the upcoming season 8 of the Showtime series.
To recall, the season 7 finale of "Shameless" showed the other side of Frank as he attended the funeral of his ex-wife and told his children how much he loved their mother despite their marriage eventually ending in shambles. After all, Frank said that Monica was his childhood sweetheart.
Because Frank showed the soft side of him in the said season finale episode, even reaching out to his eldest daughter Fiona (Emmy Rossum), some can't help but suspect that the upcoming season may feature a Frank who has turned from his shameless ways. However, according to the latest reports, while there is a possibility for Frank to check on his partially orphaned children every now and then, it is not an indication that the upcoming season 8 of "Shameless" will feature a better and admirable version of Frank.
In fact, it is said that, with Frank having money to burn now (thanks to the abundant stock of meth Monica left), it is likely for him to revert to his old ways sooner than later. Furthermore, as the title of the series is about him being shameless, to expect Frank become a good father and an admirable person in the series is tantamount to crying for the moon. What is likely to happen, though, some suspect, is that the conflict between Frank and Fiona will continue.
If there are some characters on the Showtime series who will better their lives, it is likely to be Fiona and Lip (Jeremy Allen White). In the last season, Fiona purchased a building and may concentrate on her real estate business in the upcoming season. Lip, on the other hand, has expressed his desire to go back to college, and is suspected to finally formalize his relationship with Sierra (Ruby Modine).
While there are other characters on the series that may display improved versions of themselves, Frank is unlikely to be one of them.
"Shameless" season 8 is expected to arrive later this year.
