'Shameless' season 7 spoilers, premiere date: Frank declares war versus Fiona and the kids

(Facebook/ShamelessOnShowtime)Fiona takes over the household in "Shameless" season 7.

Fiona (Emmy Rossum) is determined to play the mother hen for her siblings and niece in the upcoming season of "Shameless." What will she do when Frank (William H. Macy) decides to come home and take his place as the Gallagher patriarch?

Last installment, Fiona and the others thought they finally bid goodbye to a drunk Frank by throwing him off a bridge. The new teaser for season 7 shows, however, that good old daddy will be back after spending one month in the hospital ICU. When he walks in at The Alibi Bar, the bartenders quickly refreshes his memory about that fateful day his own family betrayed him. To get back at his ungrateful kids, Frank then visits a local shelter and "shops" for new family members. He chooses Fiona's replacement, as well as the others, and brings them to the Gallagher house.

Fiona, who is immersed in being a mother, will not stand having Frank back under one roof. She and her siblings are determined to live independently now, but as Gallaghers, they cannot help but be themselves. Debbie (Emma Kenney), in particular, will struggle. To make ends meet at home, she will resort to stealing. Unfortunately for her, she will do a bad job at it, such that she will immediately get arrested. It is going to be very tough on Fiona, trying to keep her family together while dealing with her personal problems. Although she is trying to hide it, it is obvious she is still hurting over Sean's (Dermot Mulroney) betrayal.

Fiona's wedding was canceled because of Sean. As per the trailer, she still does not want to talk about what happened on her wedding day.

In April, executive producer Nancy Pimental said that Fiona has no intention to date so soon after Sean. Her first priority will be herself and her family, but not necessarily in that order. The EP said that Fiona would mature as she realizes that she is not getting any younger.

"You get away with a lot of stuff in your early 20s where you can be a party girl and bounce from guy to guy and have every opportunity you want but getting into your late 20s it becomes not so cute anymore. How many times do you have to learn your lesson? It's a crossroads: Who are you going to be? Debs has a baby; Lip has choices — so what is your identity?" Pimental explained.

"Shameless" season 7 premieres on Sunday, Oct. 2, at 9 p.m. EDT on Showtime.
