'Sense8' season 2 release date news: Rumored to premiere next year

No official premiere date has been announced yet for the second season of Netflix's original sci-fi drama series "Sense8." However, there are speculations that it might be released later this year or next year. Here is a roundup of details about the show's season 2.

Fans almost thought that "Sense8" will be axed from the popular streaming platform Netflix. Fortunately, the California-based company announced the good news of the series' renewal last year in August via its official Twitter account. The announcement was made in a form of a video clip, where the cast expressed their birthday greetings to the show.

The crew and cast of the sci-fi drama were spotted filming in Berlin very recently. According to German news site Morgen Post, the show filmed some scenes in the midst of the deep snow in Hohenzollerndamm in Berlin, Germany.

Korean actress Bae Doo-na, who plays the vice president of a Korean firm and an underground kickboxer named Sun Bak, gave a little bit of hint about her character when the show returns. She told The Korean Herald, "Sun Pak, who was put in prison for taking her brother's crime upon herself, will return stronger than ever in season two."

She also shared the difficulties and insecurities she went through while filming the show. She admitted that there was a language barrier so she went to the United Kingdom to immerse herself with everyday English. She had to "act instinctively in Korean" but deliver the lines in English. Although it was challenging for her, she thanked the Wachowski directors for motivating her to fight her own insecurity in acting and speaking. Just like her character in "Sense8," she feels stronger now while working for the second season.

It was revealed in January that the team already shot some scenes in Chicago and they will return this coming June. The shoot will extend until October or even later than that, so this could mean that season 2 will premiere next year.
