'Sense8' season 2 premiere: A new Capheus

(Facebook / Sense8)The first season of "Sense8" is available for streaming on Netflix.

Next season will see some changes in the characters of "Sense8," but the biggest change would be that of Capheus, who will be played by a different actor.

Actor Aml Ameen who was originally cast for the role is being replaced by actor Toby Onwumere. Ameen has already shot several scenes for season 2 and it is not known yet whether those scenes would be reshot, or adjustments in the story will be made to justify the change in the character's appearance.

Ameen is said to have been in conflict with the show's co-creator and executive producer Lana Wachowski. The said conflict started during the table read for season 2 in Berlin that worsened while filming in India. The circumstances give rise to speculations that creative differences might have been the reason behind the conflict.

The series revolves around eight strangers who live in different parts of the world who are brought together by a similar vision. They later discover that they are able to tap into each other's lives as they are mentally and emotionally connected.

While trying to discover what keeps them together, they must first protect themselves from danger. In protecting themselves, they are able to use each other's skills, in order to survive. An older sensate, Jonas, is helping them while another sensate, know as "Whispers," wants them dead.

Capheus is the sensate from Nairobi who lives as a matatu driver in Nairobi. He lives with his AIDS-inflicted mother who he supports. He is a fan of action star Jean Claude Van Damme, and while he is not equipped with fighting skills, his living conditions have taught him to become resourceful.

"Sense8" season 2 was aiming for a June release; however, this target date might have to be moved. Aside from the recent change in cast, the Netflix series is said to have a total of 16 locations.
