'Seasons of Heaven' release date, news: Nintendo Switch-exclusive title reveals first trailer

(YouTube/ Any Arts Production)The Nintendo Switch-exclusive game "Seasons of Heaven" releases its first trailer, revealing a boy and a dog as the main characters.

One of the biggest reasons why gamers opt to buy a certain console is due to the exclusivity of some games. After revealing its first trailer, "Seasons of Heaven" could be one of the reasons why players could be flocking to stores to get their own Nintendo Switch.

The 3-minute trailer shows a boy who traverses through what appears like a Japanese mystical forest with his dog. They try to survive together, while steering clear of ghostly appearances of samurais and a black, giant figure that haunts the night.

Nothing much is known about the game, but it is said to be lifted from the book with the same title by Nico Augusto. A part of the summary reads, "Seasons of Heaven will take you from deep inside of a mystical forest at the beginning of time all the way through to the twenty-first century and the fall of civilization. It will take you on a journey with Yann, a young boy with Asperger's syndrome and his faithful companion, Ani, a French bulldog who Yann is able to communicate with through telepathy."

The book's summary points out that the reason for man's demise is also his doing, so it can be a safe assumption that the antagonists of the game can be the humans themselves, and not the poltergeists that lurk in the forest. How the game aims to achieve this and what gameplay it will take form in is a mystery, which all the more adds to the excitement.

The teaser is indeed beautiful and stunning, yet Nintendo reporter Laura Kate Dale mentioned on a tweet that the footage is a PC emulation. This means that the actual rendering when the game arrives to the Nintendo Switch could be different, although one can hope that it would remain the same, if not, better.

No news has been gathered yet regarding when it is supposed to launch, but fans can probably hope to get more insight on the Nintendo Switch-exclusive title during the hybrid's reveal in January next year.
