After Jake Ballard's explosive revelation in episode 5, actor Scott Foley hinted that more unexpected disclosures will happen on the next episode of "Scandal" season 6.

In the episode called "They All Bow Down," fans of the political thriller will find out that Jake was responsible for the cabin explosion to "kill" Jennifer Fields (Chelsea Kurtz) under the order of Rowan Pope (Joe Morton) after the assassination of the late president-elect Francisco Vargas (Ricardo Chavira). But fans will also find out that Jake was lying about Jennifer's death. Instead, he handed her over to Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) for safety.

The episode also reveals that Jake and Vanessa's (Jessalyn Gilsig) marriage is spiraling out of control, and he almost kills her out of frustration. But Scott stops himself because he knows that he can use Vanessa in his present predicaments.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Foley revealed that more things will unravel regarding Jake's motives and the real culprit behind Vargas' assassination on the next episodes of "Scandal" season 6.

"I think the writers are doing a really interesting thing this season that I didn't necessarily see coming. They're focusing on this, not just the election, but the assassination of Frankie," the actor stated. "We're seeing where everybody was and what everybody was doing during the assassination and what role they played in it."

He also teased that the details where Mellie Grant (Bellamy Young), Abby (Darby Stanchfield), and Olivia were during the time of the assassination and what they were doing will be exposed on the next episodes of the series.

Foley also told TVLine the reason why Jake did not just kill Vanessa when he had the chance. "I think after seeing this episode, and seeing that Jake does know right from wrong, I don't think he'd just kill her. I think she'd have to do something really wrong," he stated.

In the upcoming episode called "Extinction," someone from Rowan's past will suddenly arrive and surprise him, while Olivia will be forced to make a cathartic decision regarding the presidential campaign. Also, more details about Vargas' death will be revealed through flashbacks.

The next episode of "Scandal" season 6 will air on ABC on Thursday, March 16, at 9 p.m. EST.
