(ABC/official Facebook page)

ABC's "Scandal" has just the right blend of suspense, mystery and politics with perfectly spiced cliff-hangers that provide a delicious mix to viewers every Thursday. Next week's episode 15 of season four promises its regular dose of sauciness.

The episode's official synopsis indicates that a surprise visitor catches David Rosen off guard. This mysterious visitor claims to harbor insider information about B613 that can destroy the White House and take down Olivia's firm. It looks like the gladiators' past sins have come back to haunt them. What insider information does this visitor have on B613?

Perhaps the most shocking part the previous episode, which will be a major story arc in the upcoming episodes, was Mellie's declaration to run for Presidency and take over the White House. From wolfing fried chicken while downing vodka to now running for Presidency, a lot has changed in Fitz's partner's persona.

Actress Bellamy Young provides some valuable insight into her character's state of mind to TVGuide by talking about the breakthrough moment. So far, Mellie has put her political ambitions on the backseat for her husband's ascent to the oval office. Not anymore. Young explains, "The thing with Andrew just shows what she's capable of", referring to her move in drugging him and inducing a stroke, "She sees the next move on her chess board and embraces it. She feels she's paid her dues, is able and is certainly willing and definitely ready in her own mind. She has always been doing the right thing, being the partner to the person in charge and waiting for her moment to come after his term, and she can have her political life." Later the beautiful actress adds, "This is her (Mellie's) Vermont."

Upcoming episodes will show how others react to Mellie's ambitions and the March 19 episode will provide viewers an insight into her early life. Her sister will visit her and provide a glimpse into Mellie before pearls and that privileged façade made up her character, reports another TVGuide article.
