Another veteran is joining the San Antonio Spurs as point guard Andre Miller is set to sign with the team after accomplishing his contract buyout with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Miller was acquired by the Timberwolves ahead of the 2015–16 National Basketball Association (NBA) season to be a veteran leader to a young core, along with big man Kevin Garnett.

Unfortunately, Miller failed to land significant playing time in Minnesota and in his stay played in only 26 games, all as a reserve.

In those outings, the 39-year-old averaged 3.4 points and 2.2 assists, which are both career-worsts, in 10.8 minutes of action.

San Antonio is the ninth destination for Miller in an illustrious career that also saw him play for the Cleveland Cavaliers, Los Angeles Clippers, Denver Nuggets, Philadelphia 76ers, Portland Trail Blazers, Washington Wizards, and the Sacramento Kings.

According to ESPN, for the Spurs to add Miller in their roster, they need to let go of one player and the report suggested it will be guard Ray McCallum.

"I've never talked about who we may or may not sign at any point in the season. We just tell you guys and gals whenever we do something," Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich said of the impending addition of Miller and its effect on the roster.

The addition of Miller is good timing for the Spurs since veteran reserve Manu Ginóbili is still out and is recovering from a testicular surgery.

Since the Spurs already have veteran Tony Parker and shooter Patty Mills at the point guard position, Miller will likely join the group of shooting guards led by starter Danny Green and reserve Jonathon Simmons.

The Spurs are still the second-best team in the Western Conference and in the league, holding a 50–9 record, and are currently on a five-game winning streak.

Next on San Antonio's schedule is a home stand versus the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday, March 2.
