Samsung Galaxy S7 news, release date: Samsung will live stream event in 360-degree on Feb. 21
The launch date of the much awaited Samsung Galaxy S7 is at hand, and with that in mind, fans who cannot attend the Unpacked Event this Feb. 21 are in luck because Samsung has recently announced that they will live stream the event but with a twist: tech enthusiasts can watch it at 360-degree view, according to the company's press release.
"Even if you cannot make it to Barcelona for the big event, you can still enjoy the excitement of being the first to see Samsung's newest Galaxy devices—but this time with the added benefit of seeing them unveiled through this groundbreaking and immersive platform," the South Korean-based manufacturer wrote.
Samsung then continued to explain on their press release that, "during Galaxy Unpacked you will get four options for where to watch—from the auditorium, stage left, stage right or from center stage." Viewers can choose their preferred location inside the Unpacked Event when they watch the panel using the 360-degree feature.
The live stream of the event will be available on the PC, mobile and Samsung Gear VR platforms. On the PC, fans can head out to the official Unpacked Event website when the show begins, while on the mobile platforms, Android and iOS devices, viewers can download the Unpacked 360 View App from their respective app store. Lastly, for the Gear VR, users of the headset can go to the Oculus Store for the Unpacked 360 View app.
In terms of specification, unfortunately, the manufacturer hasn't confirmed the details yet. However, previous reports have suggested that the Samsung Galaxy S7 might sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset, as can be seen on the AnTuTu benchmark result that was posted earlier last month.
As for the design, famed tipster Evan Blass, or also known as @evleaks on Twitter, had leaked the design online, which suggested that its back cover is somehow similar to the previous flagship, Samsung Galaxy Note 5.
