Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016) release date rumors: Leaked specs and images hint at imminent launch

With much of its technical specifications already leaked, recent reports suggest that Samsung will soon release the updated Galaxy J7 smartphone. Aside from specs, device manuals, official photos, and press materials for the smartphone have also made their way online.

The specs for the Samsung Galaxy J7, while unofficial, were outlined by the U.S.'s FCC and China's TENAA.

The smartphone is expected to feature a 5.5-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display with a 1920 x 1080 screen resolution and 401 ppi pixel density. It may be powered by a 1.6 GHz Exynos 7870 processor, the ARM Mali-T830 GPU, and 3 GB of RAM. There may also be 16 GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 128 GB via a microSD card slot.

Other features to appear in the smartphone reportedly include a 13-megapixel rear camera, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, and a large 3,300 mAh battery. The J7 will also most likely come preloaded with the current Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS.

Seemingly, official photos of the Samsung Galaxy J7 also appear to have been leaked by German website WinFuture. Reliable source Evan Blass also released the leaked image on his Twitter account. Based on the leaked images, the Samsung Galaxy J7 will feature a sleek and metallic build.

Given that so much of the Galaxy S7 already released online, it is rumored that the smartphone will be released in the very near future. Hopefully, the new model will give customers the enhanced features that will allow it to stand out from the 2015 model.

The Samsung Galaxy J7 may be released in China initially with other international markets to follow. Based on the rumored specs, its price point is expected to be in the $300 range.

Since Samsung has not made any official releases regarding the Galaxy J7, readers are advised to take these information with a grain of salt. Specifications are still subject to change.
