'Rosewood' season 2 cast news: '90210' star joins as series regular

(Rosewood /Facebook)"Rosewood" season 2 premieres on Sept. 22 on Fox.

Three more months until the American series "Rosewood" returns on Fox for a second season. A new cast member joins the gang as a series regular.

"Beverly Hills, 90210" star Brian Austin Green has been recently named as the newest series regular on "Rosewood" season 2.

According to Deadline, Green will portray the newest member of the East Miami Police named Aaron Slade. He will bring complications to the Police department and to the already existing rift between Rosewood (Morris Chestnut) and Villa (Jaina Lee Ortiz). However, his mysterious history will make the squad curious of his real identity. So, while they work with him, they are also slowly learning his past. He is also known to have trust issues with other people and would most likely avoid collaboration and team-ups.

Last April, Fox renewed then freshman drama "Rosewood" for season 2. According to TV Line, Fox president of entertainment David Madden said, "With 'Rosewood,' creator Todd Harthan has put a fresh, playful spin on the procedural format, infusing it with wit and warmth, while Morris, Jaina and the show's gifted supporting cast have turned in fantastic performances. We look forward to two stand-out sophomore seasons from both series."

The show's first season finale episode saw Rosewood and Villa almost confessing each other's real feelings. However, Rosewood ended up investigating, without Villa in the picture, after finding out some lead evidence. Donna's (Lorraine Toussaint) love life, meanwhile, has been a subject of Rosewood and Pippy's (Gabrielle Dennis) speculations. Pippy, on the other hand, is in the final touches of her wedding with TMI (Anna Konkle). Across town, Hornstock (Domenick Lombardozzi) faces the consequences of his past mistakes.

"Rosewood" is a medical procedural drama set in Miami. It follows the lives of Dr. Beaumont Rosewood Jr. and the East Miami Police District's Detective Annalise Villa. Together, they probe the area's biggest cases.

Season 2 is expected to premiere on Sept. 22 on Fox.
