'Rizzoli & Isles' season 7 spoilers: Mystery person shot in Korsak's wedding

(Facebook/rizzoliandisles)"Rizzoli & Isles" returns with a new season on June 6.

The dynamic tandem of Jane Rizzoli (Angie Harmon) and Dr. Maura Isles (Sasha Alexander) are set to return with the seventh and last season of "Rizzoli & Isles" this June. For their fans, this will be a bittersweet moment, as they only have exactly 13 episodes to get their fill of their favorite crime-busting duo.

TNT has just announced (via Facebook) that the series will return with season 7 on June 6. The installment will be a lot shorter as compared to the past number of episodes in the previous seasons. Viewers will once again get to see the tough female cop and her best buddy chief medical examiner do what they do best – solve crimes and nab the perpetrators. The upcoming season will also reveal what transpired when shots were fired during Korsak's (Bruce McGill) wedding last finale.

The detective and his ladylove decided to get married right there at the precinct with the rest of their friends. Jane was confident that the lunatic targeting her was in Canada and would not cause problems at the ceremony. Little did they know that the woman found a way to smuggle herself back in the US. When Jane and the others were preparing to throw rice at the newlyweds, a sniper's laser light could be seen targeting their bodies. The scene ended in a cliffhanger, with no one the wiser about who shot whom.

The shooter will most probably be Jane's nemesis, the former classmate who wanted to get back at the top student for defeating her in class. She came from a family of cops and could not accept that someone was better than her in almost everything. The culprit first started to set Jane's apartment on fire. When that did not work, she kidnapped Maura. Now, she is gearing up for another attack. Who has been shot and how will Jane deal with the resulting crisis?

"Rizzoli & Isles" season 7 will premiere on Monday, June 6 at 9 p.m. EDT on TNT.
