"Prison Break" is returning to Fox for its fifth season, and lead stars Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell are reprising their roles as brothers Michael Scofield and Lincoln Burrows. But avid viewers may be disappointed to learn that there will be no romance between Michael and Sara Tancredi.

Deadline reported that Mark Feuerstein is joining the cast in the upcoming season of the action drama series. He is said to play the character of Scott Ness, Sara's husband.

Actress Sarah Wayne Callies, who played the character of Sara in past seasons, is still in talks with the network whether or not she is going to return to the series and continue player her part. She previously told Digital Spy, "Somebody approached me to talk about it. If they're going back, and the scripts are good, maybe we've got more stories to tell."

Meanwhile, although the fourth season ended with Michael's death, Fox co-chairman and CEO Gary Newman disclosed in a report from Entertainment Weekly that he is alive and that there will be a twist aimed to explain why he didn't and what he could possibly be doing in the interim.

Showrunner Paul Scheuring, who also pens the storyline of the series, will also have to explain how he could possibly survive his brain cancer.

Fox co-chairman/CEO Dana Walden spilled out a few beans about the plot as well during the Television Critics Association press tour in August 2015.

"I would describe it as a bit of a sequel. It picks up with the characters several years after we left them in the show," she revealed. "Some of the iconic characters from that show will be back. I don't think Paul knows exactly where it's going over the ten-episode arc, but it will address some of the questions from the original show but also appeal to new audiences."

Fox has yet to announce an official air date, but the reboot is expected to return in 2017.
