'Prison Break' season 5 spoilers: Michael's grave explained

(FOX)Brothers Michael Scofield and Lincoln Burrows of the popular series "Prison Break"

Michael Scofield is alive … with amnesia!

Viewers have been speculating on the storyline involving Michael, whose supposed grave was shown in one of the last scenes of the series before a reboot was ordered. Now it can be told that he has amnesia, and the events leading to the conclusion of his death will be addressed in the upcoming season.

Some other rumors surrounding the show suggest that his son known as Mike, Jr. will be the key to bringing back his memory.

Tv Line, which kept a close monitor on the series update, reports that the story opens with Sara leading a new life with her new husband Ness, to be played by actor Mark Feuerstein. Ness has also taken into his care Sara's son with Michael. However, clues that lead to discovering Michael still alive cause her to get in touch with Lincoln and that's where the "biggest escape ever" story begins to unfold.

Three of Fox River State Penitentiary escapees have confirmed their return to the series namely T-Bag, C-not, and Sucre who are expected to help in finding their good friend Michael. Paul Kellerman is also set to figure largely in the story.

While Paul was seen as an antagonist in the first three seasons, he was depicted a changed man in the final episodes and became the key to bringing down The Company. He was last seen as a Congressman running for Presidency. Whether he reverts to his old ways or he becomes an ally to the brothers has not been revealed yet.

The series was first ordered for 10 episodes, however all of the stars are working on current projects and have caused delays in production. Season 5 will now have 9 episodes with filming to start in April. Unconfirmed reports say that the show is targeting a September premiere.
