Although "Prison Break" season 5 does not have a specific air date yet, there are already various rumors and speculations as to what the special nine-episode returning series will have to offer. The latest in the rumor mill, though, is that Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell) will meet his demise in the story.

There is no denying that "Prison Break" season 5 is one of the most-anticipated series ever. After all, it was a hit among the viewers before its season 4 concluded back in 2009. While everybody thought that the series already bade goodbye for good with the supposed death of Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) in its season 4 finale, fans were treated to a pleasant surprise when it was announced that the series is being revived by Fox for a season 5.

As "Prison Break" season 5 is just meant to close the loose ends of its season 4, and fans cannot expect another season from the series, it is suspected that anything can happen to the characters, including the death of Purcell's Lincoln Burrows. According to the latest rumors, it is likely for the character to die in the series based on the leaked storyboard of "Prison Break" season 5, wherein it can be seen that the car Lincoln is driving hits the guard rail as it avoids a truck. As the leaked storyboard shows Lincoln Burrows thrown into the creek after the impact, it is now suspected that the character may perish in the crash, although nothing is conclusive as of yet.

Meanwhile, in contrast to Lincoln Burrow's death, which is only a suspicion at this point in time, it is certain that it will be Purcell's character who will be instrumental in freeing Miller's character from a prison in Yemen. In fact, Purcell even got into a serious accident while filming the scene for the great escape after a big piece of iron bar fell on his head in the middle of the shoot.

Reportedly, the wounds and injuries of the actor were eventually written on the script. Could it be that those real-life wounds and injuries were used in the scenes for Lincoln Burrow's suspected death based on the leaked storyboard?

No one outside "Prison Break" season 5 really knows for now.
