'Pretty Little Liars' news: Series creator hints at possible film adaptation

To say that the first half of the sixth season of "Pretty Little Liars" ended with a huge revelation is nothing but an understatement. The tail-end of the most recent run finally named Alison's transgendered sister as the elusive "A." With arguably the greatest mystery of the show unravelled, fans worry that the upcoming seventh season, which will feature a five-year time jump, might be the last for the series. An eighth season is still unconfirmed, but the show's creator, Marlene King, might already have big plans for her project.
During Good Morning America's 40 for 40, the "Pretty Little Liars" creator hinted that while her television series might soon end, the story of the four girls from Rosewood will continue elsewhere. While remaining coy about the subject of a film, King explained how, after the show, she intends to go on a break then resume working with the cast and crew.
"We've got some really big ideas for a great PLL movie, but that won't happen right after the series ends. I think we'll take a little break and let everybody go off and do a few things and hopefully we'll come back together again and do something really special." detailed King.
Elsewhere, the thriller program's showrunner also hinted at what is in store for Spencer, Aria, Hanna and Emily come season 6B. In an interview with E! Online, King revealed that fans should prepare for a lot of changes when the show returns. She said the girls have matured into fine young ladies during the five-year jump and they have built lives outside their hometown. However, a particular incident will be bringing them all back.
"The girls you last saw on Pretty Little Liars are really not girls anymore. They're grown up, very mature young women leading very interesting lives, and they're about to come back to Rosewood again. Of course, it's Pretty Little Liars, so they do come back with some secrets and some lies," explained King in the interview.
"Pretty Little Liars" will be back for season 6B this January.
