Porsche unveils the 2016 911 GTS Rennsport Reunion Limited Edition
The Porsche Rennsport Reunion V, the largest gathering of Porsche racecars, took place last weekend at the famed Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca racetrack in California. The event only takes place every three years and so, a record number of 57,531 people made their way to the racetrack to witness the event.
To commemorate the fifth Rennsport Reunion, Porsche unveiled a special 911 Carrera GTS Rennsport Reunion Edition sports car. There are only 25 units made and sales will be limited to North America.
The Porsche Rennsport Reunion Edition is based on the 911 Carrera GTS coupe. The sports car, painted in Fashion Grey, bears a striking appearance due to the black and red decals covering the front hood, roof, rear decklid and doors. The doors also feature the Porsche logotype. The limited edition sports car also has high-gloss black accents located in the lower trim of the side mirrors and in the 20-inch Sport Classic wheels.
The two-door Rennsport sports car is powered by a 3.8-liter flat-six engine with manual transmission, which provides 430 horsepower and 324 lb-ft of torque. The car can go from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.2 seconds and can reach a top speed of 190 mph.
Inside, the car's interiors feature a carbon fiber dashboard trim and illuminated bespoke door-sill guards. The Rennsport Reunion Edition car has been given the GTS Interior Package trim so the SportDesign steering wheel, door panel trim, dashboard trim, floor mats and GTS logo on the headrests have all been stitched in Carmine Red.
Other features of the car include 18-way Adaptive Sports Seats Plus, PASM Sport suspension, a Bose audio system, and rear park assist. Safety features include anti-lock brakes, stability control, front-impact airbags and overhead airbags.
Sales for the Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Rennsport Reunion Edition are already on going, with the price of the coupe set at $148, 335 with an additional $995 for destination charge.
