'Pokemon Go' tips and tricks: Eevee evolution name hack cheat

There's a lot of randomness baked into the world of "Pokemon Go," although there are some things players have more control over than they think, including exactly which evolutionary paths their Eevees take inside the game.
For players who may have not heard about the Eevee evolution hack up to this point, it's a pretty simple trick that allows owners to determine exactly how their Eevees evolve.
The hack is based on the names of the Eevees themselves.
As Reddit user "TheAztek" noted, the trick involves simply naming the Eevee either Pyro for players who want to get a Flareon, Rainier for players who would prefer to have a Vaporeon and Sparky for those who would like their Eevees to turn into Jolteons.
Numerous players have already been able to attest to the effectiveness of this hack.
It's also worth noting that this particular trick is the real thing as well.
Speaking during the "Pokemon Go" panel back at San Diego Comic-Con, Niantic CEO John Hanke confirmed that the trick is indeed designed to work inside the game, Comic Book reported.
Unfortunately, it appears as though not everyone has gotten the trick to work perfectly for them every time.
In a separate Reddit thread, numerous other "Pokemon Go" players have shared their experiences related to the Eevee name hack not working for them.
It's unclear exactly why the trick doesn't work 100 percent of the time, though some have speculated that there may be a limit on how many times the hack can be successfully used inside the game.
Since the Eevee name hack is apparently not guaranteed to work all of the time, the best thing that players can really do is to save their game before going through with the evolution and then proceed to see which result they may get by using the trick.
More "Pokemon Go" tips should be made available in the near future.
