'Pokémon GO' Eevee evolution cheat: hack to evolve Pokémon into water, fire and electric type

(Pokemon)Eevee evolution on "Pokemon Go" may be manipulated by renaming it.

Eevee has always been one of the most beautiful characters in the Pokémon world. It can evolve into different magnificent creatures, and in the augmented reality game "Pokémon GO," everyone wants to have all forms of the bushy-tailed fox-like Pokémon.

Eevee can evolve into the water-type Pokémon Vaporeon, the fire-type Flareon, and the electric-type Jolteon. There's no way of predicting what type of Pokémon Eevee will evolve into, although it is observed that Flareon is the most dominant type in the mobile game. However, there appears to be a trick on how to make Eevee evolve into the type of Pokémon the trainer wishes it to become.

It turns out that the secret to make Eevee evolve into one's Pokémon of choice is to choose the right name to give it. The names come from the Eevee Brothers who originally appeared in the anime. To let Eevee evolve into Vaporeon, Flareon or Jolteon, it should be given the name Rainer, Pyro and Sparky respectively. The trick was shared over at a Reddit post, and after players tried it with a 100 percent success rate, the cheat has been confirmed to work.

There have been updates to the post explaining why some people didn't get the right evolution, especially on the second time they've tried it. According to the post, it is possible that Eevee will only evolve to a specific type one at a time; one cannot evolve to a fire-type, water-type or electric-type twice in a row.

It was also advised that after the player gives Eevee its intended name, he or she needs to close the app and restart it to make sure that the name was registered on the servers.

Besides Flareon, Jolteon and Vaporeon, Eevee can still further evolve into different types, which are not part of the first generation Pokémon of "Pokémon GO." Eevee still has its  psychic, dark, ice, grass or fairy forms to evolve into but this is currently not available in the game yet.
