'Pokemon Go' release date imminent as beta arrives with new features in the U.S.
In the realm of augmented reality gaming, fans of Pokemon are waiting for the arrival of "Pokemon Go" on mobile devices. Recently, rumors have suggested that the game will be arriving soon for the general public, even as the "Pokemon Go" beta has gone live in the United States.
Recently, Niantic, the company that is developing the upcoming "Pokemon Go" game, hinted that it was close to being released. This news was picked up by websites who however indicated that the developer did not provide a clear date for its arrival in the market, which indicates that the beta testing phase is likely to be brought to more countries. Meanwhile, Nintendo and Niantic have not changed the release window of the game and it is likely to make its appearance as per schedule sometime this year.
Niantic also outlined how the game was being developed, with them "sweating" over its details and features, and compared it to a meal that would be ready to share soon. It also thanked the beta testers who signed up for the field test in countries like Japan, New Zealand and Australia and brought a lot of issues to the developer's attention. This information has since then been used to improve the game ahead of it being pushed out as a field test to the United States.
With a likely 2016 launch, it is thought that the developers are in the midst of putting the final touches to the augmented reality game. Niantic also outlined how the beta testers, who got access to the game on May 25 in the United States, will be able to try out new features. Among these new features is the ability to cause Pokemon to evolve and the Venusaur monster which can be earned in the beta test. Trainers who are hoping to evolve Pokemon in the upcoming game will be able to collect eggs in the beta phase in addition to the fully grown monsters.
With Nintendo planning to host a conference before E3 2016 kicks off, many are hoping to see more information about the "Pokemon Go" release date arrive during the event.
