'Pokemon Go' and 'Pokemon Z' release date rumors update: 'Z' to be replaced by 'Pokemon Sun and Moon?'
The Pokemon Company has finally announced the next "Pokemon" game to come out on Nintendo's gaming platform this year. But unfortunately, to the fans who are eagerly waiting for the highly rumored "Pokemon Z," it appears like this isn't going to happen anytime soon, as the company already dropped the title for the next IPs, and they are "Pokemon Sun and Moon."
According to the trailer that the company had released on YouTube, "Pokemon Sun and Moon" is set to become available worldwide this 2016 and in nine different languages. "We hope that, through 'Pokemon,' players can overcome language barriers and interact with other players from around the world," The Pokemon Company CEO, Tsunekazu Ishihara, said at the presentation via The Verge.
Based on the clip, it appears like this is really going to be the next installment after the 2013 "Pokemon X & Y" IPs, and "Pokemon Z" might be off the table now.
Meanwhile, as for the other title, the Augmented Reality mobile game "Pokemon Go," developer Niantic has recently rolled out a statement after the company had managed to raise $5 million for their project. "'Pokémon Go' is looking good. We'll share more details with the world soon. There certainly are a lot of fans," Niantic CEO, John Hanke, told GamesBeat via Venture Beat.
Unfortunately, both the companies still haven't dropped the most important details regarding these games: the release date or even a window as to when these titles will become available.
However, previous reports had indicated that the AR mobile IP will come out first in North America, Japan, and Europe first. Other regions will presumably follow next at a much later date.
So for now, it is very advisable for the fans to just wait for further announcements coming the two companies regarding the "Pokemon Sun and Moon" and "Pokemon Go."
