'Pirates of the Caribbean 5' rumors: movie not a sequel but a reboot, to focus on Orlando Bloom's Will Turner

(Facebook/Pirates of the Caribbean)"Pirates of the Caribbean 5" is said to be about Orlando Bloom's Will Turner character and his son Henry.

There will be no more sequel to "Pirates of the Caribbean," and Disney is said to reboot the movie that will put Orlando Bloom on the spotlight.

According to reports, "Pirates of the Caribbean 5" will no longer proceed, and the whole franchise will be rebooted from the start. Although Bloom is no stranger to "Pirates of the Caribbean" movies as he plays the role of Will Turner, if rumors are to be believed, the alleged reboot will focus on his character and his son, sans the presence of Johnny Depp's Captain Jack Sparrow character.

However, according to reports, Depp is still pretty much a part of "Pirates of the Caribbean 5," as his iconic character Jack Sparrow. Nonetheless, it is said that the upcoming movie will be the last time for the actor to don his pirate costume as it is suspected that "Pirates of the Caribbean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales" may not just be a sequel but a reboot, after all.

Speculations that the "Pirates of the Caribbean 5" being a reboot have been bolstered by the inclusion of two new cast members in the movie: Kaya Scodelario (Carina Smyth) and Brenton Thwaites (Henry Turner, Will Turner's son). While not a lot of details have been revealed about what Scodelario's role will be, it is strongly speculated that she will play the love interest of Thwaites.

The inclusion of Scodelario and Thwaites in the movie has bolstered the speculations that the upcoming "Pirates of the Caribbean 5" may be, indeed, a reboot. After all, back in 2014, Bloom said that the upcoming movie might hit the restart button.

"Basically they want to reboot the whole franchise, I think, and do something with me and the relationship with my son," said Bloom in an interview with IGN in 2014.

Will "Pirates of the Caribbean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales" be  the swan song of Depp's Jack Sparrow character? Find out when the movie arrives in theaters on May 26, 2017.
