'Person of Interest' season 5 spoilers: may be final season but some great episodes in store
"Person of Interest" will be back for a fifth season, but there are indications that it might be their last. But regardless of whether or not season 5 will be their final season, show creator Jonathan Nolan promises it will still be a great season.
Production for the sci-fi crime drama is currently on-going, and some behind-the-scenes photos that have surfaced hint at the return of Harper Rose and Logan Pearce.
Unfortunately, fans might have to wait longer before they can see that episode as "Person of Interest" has not been included in CBS' official midseason lineup. It's been said the delay was due to the network's decision to prioritize their own shows and since "Person of Interest" is under another production company, they have been given a delayed air date. However, the reduced episode numbers for season 5 has led fans to believe that the series is headed toward cancellation.
While cancellation is a possibility, Nolan told The Hollywood Reporter that their mindset going into season 5 is to "make 13 k***ss episodes, drop the microphone, and if we're asked to pick it up again, we'll have more stories to tell." It's a sentiment that showrunner Greg Plageman shares, as he said the writers have enough material to last until season 7.
Nolan added that the cast and crew are all very proud of the show and that if it really is their last season, fans won't be disappointed with the way it will end.
As for season 5, iSchool Guide reports that the series will start with Harold Finch (Michael Emerson) and Samantha Groves (Amy Acker) trying to revive "The Machine." No one is certain if the machine can be brought back to life, but episode 1 of season 5 will reportedly feature flashbacks of what Harold did to the machine.
No official release date has been set for "Person of Interest" season 5 but it will reportedly air sometime in 2016.
