'Percy Jackson' 3 release date rumors: No third movie but The CW set to adapt the story for a TV series

(Facebook/Percy Jackson movies)Rumor has it that "Percy Jackson" will be adapted into a TV series on The CW.

Fans of "Percy Jackson" can either sulk or jubilate if the latest rumors are to be believed. While it is certain that Logan Lerman will no longer reprise his demigod role in the movies for the third installment of "Percy Jackson," another actor is set to breathe life to the character, not on the big screen, though, but on TV.

Lerman has long declared that he is no longer reprising his role based on the Rick Riordan series of novels. In an interview with MTV in the past, the actor said that "Percy Jackson 3," which is supposed to be officially titled "Percy Jackson: Titan's Curse" based on the next book in the series of novels, is not happening at all.

"It's been a great experience for me. It's opened up a lot of doors for me, but I don't think it's happening," said Lerman.

However, there is a piece of unconfirmed report that has been going around lately, saying that "Percy Jackson" is not "dead" at all, at least, as far as a live-action feature is concerned. Rumor has it that The CW has picked up the tales and adventures of Percy Jackson, and a budget of $12 million has already been set aside for the production of its first season and the first half of its sophomore season.

Reportedly, Riordan wants the TV adaptation of his novels to remain faithful to the events in his books and wants the rumored planned The CW series to have a different set of cast from those featured on the big screen.

Fans of "Percy Jackson" have been clamoring for another live-action feature on the said character. In fact, various fan-made trailers of the clamored third film feature of "Percy Jackson" continue to generate views and likes on YouTube.

Last year, fans even launched a campaign for the TV reboot of the modern Greek mythology with a twist on Change.org. If the rumor claiming that "Percy Jackson" is being remade into a TV series on The CW is true, then, the clamor of those who supported the campaign did not land on deaf ears.
