'Orange is the New Black' season 4: with Nicky Nichols out of maximum security, she may be back on the scene

"Orange is the New Black" never got to see Nicky Nichols (Natasha Lyonne) again after her heroine scheme with Joel Luschek (Matt Peters) went kaput and she got shipped to maximum security. But will Nicky reappear in season four?
The cast of "Orange is the New Black" attended the summer press tour of the Television Critics Association last Tuesday. Lyonne was asked about her reaction to Nicky's storyline and she was quoted by Entertainment Weekly as saying, "I was excited to read it. I would actually argue that there were huge stakes for Nicky Nichols this season much more than any previous season. It makes sense that a self destructive person would end up where she did."
Since Nicky's disappearance though, fans have been wondering if the heart of Litchfield Penitentiary will make another appearance in season four. However, Lyonne simply said that she cannot speak on the matter. But her appearance in the panel had the press and the fans speculating that there is a high possibility of it happening.
And if Nicky does reappear, Lyonne shared the possible effects maximum security might have on her character and said, "It could really go both ways. People respond all kinds of ways to intense [situations] beyond rules. That kind of discipline sometimes brings out the best in people and sometimes brings out that much more anger and rebellion. Certainly, at a certain point, I think Nicky would have to come to terms with her childhood and do some reconciling with her past if she's going to make peace with being an adult."
For season four of the comedy drama series, viewers are looking forward to finding out if John Bennett (Matt McGorry) had a hand at staging his own disappearance and if Alex Vause (Laura Prepon) is still alive.
"Orange is the New Black" will make a comeback in the summer of 2016.
