'Orange Is The New Black' season 3 spoilers: happier times at Litchfield; things get heated between Alex and Piper

(Netflix)Season 3 releases on June 12, 2015.

Netflix has finally set a date for its prison-centred drama, "Orange Is The New Black". Viewers should mark June 12 on their calendars now as the day season three hits Netflix, reports TVLine.

While binge-watching season three is still months away, fans looking for some inside scoop of their favorite inmates at Litchfield Federal Correctional Institution needn't fret. There are ample spoilers floating on the Internet about many characters' fate. Breathe Cast reports that Daya will take the center stage this season, what with her pregnancy and Pornstache's mother inserting herself in her life. What trouble will Mendez's mother bring? Star Dascha Polanco, who essays Daya's role, may not take the spotlight for too long due to several upcoming movie offers.

GameNGuide reports that season three will be more lighthearted than season two which focused on driving the plot. From Vee and Taystee's story to Morello's crazy stalker angle to Piper dealing with prison drama without Alex, season two had taken on a darker shade. However, that is all set to change since show writer Lauren Morelli says some of the joy comes back at Litchfield.

Mirror reports that a big sex scene was shot between Alex and Piper and that Taylor and Laura were comfortable filming it together. Binge-watchers of the show are well-aware that actors in the series do not shy away from filming sizzling scenes. The central theme of season three will be "faith", although what the exact plot is, is still unknown.

It was previously reported that actor Jason Biggs, who plays Larry, will not be returning for the current season but an appearance in future seasons should not be ruled out. Stella Carlin is set to be played by Ruby Rose and is Alex and Piper's new love interest, while the prison deals with the aftermath of Vee's death. Those looking for a quick Litchfield fix can view a sing-a-long released by the show recently.
