The misadventures of Piper Chapman as a jailbird continue with the upcoming 'Orange Is the New Black' season 3 premiere. The hit series became wildly popular during its first season, which is why the show was greenlit for a third season as early as a month before the season 2 release date.

It has been rumored that Lorraine Toussaint will come back in season 3, though her character Vee was practically left for dead in the last season.

Speaking to E! News, the actress said that she was sure that her character was deceased, and a new appearance could possibly be a flashback from the past.

"I believe she's dead. She's dead... I wouldn't be surprised if she wasn't dead because I don't have much control over her...she's pretty dead...but it is Vee," said Toussaint in an interview at this year's Emmy Awards.

There are reports that Jason Biggs, who plays the role of Larry, has been downgraded to a regular, though Netfilx has yet to comment on that.

Another role that will be seen less in the new season is Maritza Ramos, played by actress Diane Guerrero. Laura Prepon's character, Alex Vause, was noticeably absent in the last season, but season 3 will see more of her behind bars.

One major story arc to be expected is the birth of Daya's child with John Bennett, the prison guard she had an affair with.
