Oppo R9 release date, specs rumors: Set to be launched March 17 with 21 MP camera
There have been a slew of rumors about the Oppo R9 and many details about the device have already appeared on the Internet. However, the latest teaser from the company has indicated that the smartphone will be releasing in March.
This latest teaser about the Oppo R9 arrived via ads in China. GSMArena states that they revealed that the device would be launching on March 17 and it puts an end to the massive amount of speculations that have been surrounding the smartphone. Speculation about the Oppo R9 has been growing since the device was leaked last year and since then, a lot of information about the features arriving on it have been seen in rumors.
Oppo has revealed a lot of new technology in the recent months and this includes a fast charging technology, Super VOOC. This particular technology can bring the charge in a dead battery to full within a space of 15 minutes and many are hoping that it will arrive on the Oppo R9. As for the design of the Oppo R9, there are indications that it could look like a clone of the iPhone 6s Plus. This indicates that the device will have a metal body.
Other technologies which could appear on the Oppo R9 include the SmartSensor OIS, which the company has been touting to be the world's smallest image stabilization technology. Also, this particular technology is sensor-based and is different from other OIS technologies in the market.
As for the upcoming event to unveil the Oppo R9, nothing much is known about it. However, it is likely that as the March 17 date draws closer, the company will be sending out invites to it. Coming to the hardware on the Oppo R9, it is thought that it will have the latest chipset from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 820, which will put it at par with the other flagships. In terms of size, however, the Oppo R9 is thought to have a 6-inch display and its RAM is pegged at about 4 GB.
