'Once Upon a Time' season 5 news: Jamie Chung back as Mulan
The fifth season of "Once Upon a Time" would return to primetime in less than two weeks and fans can no longer wait to see the return of the show. Fortunately for them, some details about the show have already been confirmed and it looks like a couple of familiar faces would be returning to the ABC Original.
Late last week, Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis, creators of the show, sat down with TVLine to tease fans about the details of the upcoming debut. While both have been coy in spilling information about season two, Kitsis has confirmed that the return of the show would highlight not only Merida but also the origin stories of King Arthur and the rest of his canon.
"We're obviously going to get some of Merida's story, and there's absolutely going to be King Arthur/Guinevere/Lancelot origin stories."
Kitsis also hinted that a previous character would be returning to the show. He said, "Well, I hope there's a full moon this year.... You never know who might come out during a full moon. Or come back, I should say!"
TVLine has since confirmed that Meghan Ory would be returning to reprise her role as Ruby in "Once Upon a Time" season five. While it is exciting to see more of Ory, it seems like she wasn't the character the creator was referring to.
Merely hours ago, Horowitz teased fans on Twitter, updating his profile with a picture of one of season five's episode titles. The tweet revealed that episode # 507 would be entitled "Nimue."
Followers of the show have speculated that the title might be referring to Mulan being featured in the upcoming return. True enough, Horowitz has confirmed that Jamie Chung has signed on for season five and would be playing Mulan in the impending return of the series.
"Hey #Oncers, look who's back! Thrilled to welcome @jamiechung1 back to #OnceUponATime season 5! #Mulan," tweeted Horowitz.
"Once Upon a Time" season five would be returning to ABC on Sept. 27 2015.
