One of the most anticipated virtual reality headsets of the year was the Oculus Rift, but many were disappointed when it released without dedicated controllers. However, at the time, it was indicated that the Touch controller for the headset would be released later in the year. Recently, it was teased further at the E3 2016 gaming conference and it looks set to arrive in a few months with 30 games that support it.

As for a release date for the Oculus Rift, it has not yet been revealed by Oculus. However, this has not stopped people from raving about its features and how it could make a big difference to how games are played with the Oculus Rift headset. Meanwhile, as the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016 concluded, it was announced that the controllers will be arriving with 30 games that support it. The Verge, reporting on this, stated that because of the controllers coming along with a number of compatible games, it is likely that its launch will only happen after the PlayStation VR hits the market in October.

Earlier this year, the Oculus Rift VR headset launched but even then no one was expecting the Touch controllers to show up. This was because Oculus announced in December of 2015 that the Touch controllers would be launched separately. They had also indicated that it would arrive in the second half of 2016. With E3 2016 come and gone, it is likely that the Touch controllers will only be releasing in the market a few months down the line.

However, it appears that Oculus has been busy remodeling the Touch controllers and this was the version that was showcased during E3 2016. ArsTechnica was able to try out these redesigned controllers during E3 and it stated that their design seems to have been polished. Also, the trigger on the controller responds better to players pressing on it and the grip has been rubberized. It also notes that as far as a release date, the Touch controller might only arrive in November.
