Uncertainty still largely defines the Nintendo NX, though recent rumors have begun hinting at some of the specific capabilities of the new console.

This time around, the rumor pertaining to the specs of the new console came from insider Emily Rogers.

In a recent blog post, Rogers shared some details about what the new console will feature and even hinted at its power potential.

Starting off with what the NX will reportedly be capable of in terms of power, sources spoken to by Rogers indicated that the new console more closely resembles the Xbox One as opposed to the PlayStation 4 in this particular department.

The NX is also reportedly not expected to "blow away" the other currently available consoles on the market aside from the Wii U, seemingly hinting that Nintendo's next console will feature a significant step up in terms of sheer power, though it may not be enough to make gamers completely forget about its competitors.

Sources spoken to by Rogers have also indicated that the Nintendo NX may feature its own set of customized chips. On top of that, the upcoming console is also expected to feature a new design, one that has been described as "very modern."

Unfortunately, it's still hard to tell if those aforementioned specs will indeed be found within the new console since Nintendo has yet to reveal its specific features and components, though that may be changing soon.

According to a report from VR World, Nintendo's new console "should be announced during Tokyo Game Show 2016."

Should this rumor prove to be true, then additional details about the specs and features of the NX may be revealed at the aforementioned event that is currently set to start on Sept. 15.

The one thing officially known for now is that the new console is not set to be made available this year, as Nintendo has previously announced that it will be coming in March of next year.

More news about the Nintendo NX should be made available in the near future.
