GTX 980 Ti release date may be as early as February

The GTX 980 Ti specs leak was welcomed by eager fans who are now waiting for the release that has been postponed from December 2014, adding to the restlessness. Rumors about the GTX 980 Ti release date are still plenty. Ranging from early 2015 to late 2016, different sources are making different claims about the release but the best guess would be the first or second quarter of this year itself. According to Kdramastars, the release is most likely to be scheduled in February. The specifications might have been leaked but Nvidia is making sure that the mystery of the release date is not ruined.
Nvidia is targeting the highly profitable semiconductor industry as reported by the WCCFTech with its revised 16nm shrink. Like the GM20, Nvidia is once again trying to go for a holiday season release to optimize sales and that hints an early second quarter release. Rumors suggest that the GM200 GPU will be 50% faster than its predecessors and emerge as the fastest GPU in the current market.
The 551 mm 2 die with a 20-22 SMM will deliver something between 2560 and 2816 CUDA cores on a 384-bit memory bus. Yes, this is a welcome upgrade from the 256-bit bus as in the GeForce GTX 980 and 970. The Maxwell architecture is proving quite beneficial under the current GeForce GTX flagship. As reported by the retailer TechnoLandia, the hardware will come in 8 GB and 6 GB size variants.
Coming to the GTX 980 Ti performance, John Sutton of Game Debate boasted about the power of "this monstrous Maxwell-powered graphics card at roughly 50% more powerful than the GTX Titan Black". If this claim is true, the Enthusiast level card is more than fetching even at a $1000 price range. Coming to the GTX 980 Ti price, it can be priced at anything between $700 and $1000. $700 is not promising enough so either the '50% more powerful' dream will crash or the price should be something around $800 or maybe even $900.
