Fans are not the only ones excited for the sixth season of "New Girl." The cast is also admittedly looking forward to it as much as everyone else. Recently, a new poster has been released for the new season and it sees the whole gang in a huge embrace. 

TVLine exclusively obtained the poster as well as a behind-the-scenes look with some of the cast members. Set to a sky blue background, the poster sees the show's five friends with their arms around each other. The tagling reads: "Still friends. More benefits." If that is any indication of what's to come, then it looks like this season is going to get complicated, romance-wise. 

It is widely known that the previous season saw Nick with a new girl in his life — Reagan, played by Megan Fox. And with Fox returning to reprise her role this season, fans can expect a love triangle forming among Nick, Reagan, and Jess. Fox's character, however, is not scheduled to come back until midseason.

It was previously reported that the Nick-Jess relationship will be explored again in the upcoming season, according to showrunner Liz Meriwether. It's true that they tried to date in the past but it didn't work out, so it would be interesting to see how it will go this time around. Additionally, Jess will be the one pining for Nick, which is a nice turning of the tables. 

Season 5 also saw Cece and Schmidt tying the knot. The new season is expected to show the couple dealing with married life and perhaps welcoming a baby. "I can't wait to get into season 6 with Schmidt as a married man," Max Greenfield, who plays Schmidt, shared. On the other hand, the show's star, Zooey Deschanel, is more excited about helming the premiere episode.

"New Girl" season 6 will premiere on Sept. 20 on FOX.
