It appears that the "NCIS" team has to handle some emotional baggage that they're carrying if they want to move forward. The previous episode saw DiNozzo finally getting closure with Jeanne Benoit. Now it's Bishop and Jake's turn as they try and deal with their marital problems in episode nine,

A ghost from Tony DiNozzo's (Michael Weatherly) past arrived in the form of Jeanne Benoit (Scottie Thompson), the woman he fell in love with while working undercover for former "NCIS" director Jenny Shepherd (Lauren Holly). It seemed fitting that episode seven was titled "Saviors" as DiNozzo and the rest of the "NCIS" team try to save her husband, a doctor who has been kidnapped in South Sudan. In turn, Jeanne was also able to save Tony by giving him the closure he needed and easing the guilt he carried for hurting her.

The upcoming episode gives the team a new case that starts out differently. A synopsis in the "Carter Matt" site states that in episode nine, a petty officer who's desperate to clear his name "volunteers to be court martialed if 'NCIS' agrees to conduct its own investigation after his murder case is dismissed due to a mishandled warrant."

The trailer for the episode, titled, "Day in Court," starts with the soldier asking to be arrested for murder much to the surprise of Tony and McGee (Sean Murray). Gibbs (Mark Harmon) is then seen confronting the solider and tells him he doesn't like being lied to. The teaser also implies that something is going on between Bishop (Emily Wickersham) and her husband Jake (Jamie Bamber) as it ends with the team asking her if she's OK. She says no.

The couple's marriage has been on the rocks for a while now, as the demands of their jobs often put them at odds with each other. The synopsis for the episode does mention that the two will be discussing their marital problems. However, it just might be too late for that.

"NCIS" season 13, episode nine will be aired on Nov. 17 on CBS.
